The fitted sheet remains visible even when the duvet cover and pillowcases change. In Pure White, it is the surface of the sateen that you see: the fine sheen comes from the satin weave. Pure White is one of the colours of our Classico sateen collection.<\/p>\n
A white sheet works with whatever colour the duvet cover happens to be, and traces the edge of the bed as a clear, bright line. When the colours of a bed change over the years, white sheets remain the foundation and only the layer above them is replaced.<\/p>\n
With a fitted sheet, the fit depends not only on the width and length but also on the depth of the sides. This sheet is made for a mattress and topper with a combined depth of 18 to 27 cm. The sides are 30 cm deep; for 60x120 cm, 70x140 cm and 80x160 cm they are 20 cm. The elastic is sewn in all the way round and draws the sheet onto the mattress along all four sides, rather than holding it at the corners alone. The fabric is the same as that of the duvet cover and pillowcases: a satin weave in combed American Pima cotton, a long-staple cotton whose long fibres give a finer, more even yarn. In the trade, sateen made from this kind of cotton is usually sold as \u2018Mako satin\u2019; Mako is the Egyptian variety of the same species. The sateen has 320 threads per square inch (320 TC), weighs 120 g\/m\u00b2 and is woven in Northern Italy. Its surface is smooth, with no noticeable texture.<\/p>\n
