This blue sateen pillowcase is made for the bed: it is sewn in pillow sizes from 30x50 cm to 40x145 cm and is not a scatter cushion cover for the sofa. It comes into particularly close contact with face and hair, and because the fabric folds most on a pillow, this is where the shade looks most clearly blue. Porcelain Blue is one of the colours of our Classico sateen collection.

Pillows are the most flexible layer of the bed: they can be swapped, stacked and mixed while the rest stays as it is. For a shade this light, pillows are the best place: on a pillow it shows its colour, whereas on a surface pulled smooth it would look almost white. With Pure White, the combination stays light and calm; with Travertine Beige, a contrast of warm and cool makes both shades more distinct. Porcelain Blue itself is slightly lighter and paler than the Azure Light Blue of our percale collection. Two pillow sizes together add depth to the bed without introducing a second colour.

In a satin weave, the warp thread passes over several weft threads, which brings more yarn to the surface. The side you lie on is therefore smooth, with no noticeable texture. The yarn is spun from combed American Pima cotton, a long-staple cotton whose long fibres give a finer yarn with fewer fibre ends standing out. In the trade, sateen made from this kind of cotton is usually sold as ‘Mako satin’; Mako is the Egyptian variety of the same species. The fabric has 320 threads per square inch (320 TC), weighs 120 g/m² and is woven in Northern Italy.

You can choose from 26 pillow sizes, ranging from 30x50 cm to 40x145 cm, plus a cover for the 15x40 cm neck roll. If your size is not among them, we sew the pillowcase to your measurements – at no extra charge, on request by email or WhatsApp.

We sew each pillowcase after your order is placed. The zip is of German manufacture and has a metal slider. It is concealed and colour-matched to the fabric.

The fabric is certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. Wash Porcelain Blue inside out at 40 °C.
