Cotton sateen pillowcase in Travertine Beige

A pillowcase comes into particularly close contact with face and hair – and it is also the layer that can be changed most quickly. In beige, a pillowcase shows more movement than a surface drawn smooth: a pillow propped up and crumpled sends the edges of the folds in every direction, and the play of light and shade on the sateen is strongest there. Travertine Beige is one of the colours of our Classico sateen collection.

Travertine in combination

Pillows are the most flexible layer of the bed: they can be swapped, stacked and mixed while the rest stays as it is. A warm mid-tone such as Travertine behaves differently here than on a large surface: against a white duvet cover it creates a quiet contrast without bringing a strong colour into the bed, and it continues a Travertine set tone on tone. With Pure White the combination stays light; the cooler Taupe Greige brings a shift between warm and grey within the same colour family. For a lighter warm tone, there is Cream Light Beige in our percale collection, though with a matt surface. Two pillow sizes together add depth to the bed without introducing a second colour.

The surface in direct contact with the skin

In a satin weave, the warp thread passes over several weft threads, which brings more yarn to the surface. The side you lie on is therefore smooth, with no noticeable texture. The yarn is spun from combed American Pima cotton, a long-staple cotton whose long fibres give a finer yarn with fewer fibre ends standing out. In the trade, sateen made from this kind of cotton is usually sold as ‘Mako satin’; Mako is the Egyptian variety of the same species. The fabric has 320 threads per square inch (320 TC), weighs 120 g/m² and is woven in Northern Italy.

Sizes and made to measure

You can choose from 26 pillow sizes, ranging from 30×50 cm to 40×145 cm, plus a cover for the 15×40 cm neck roll. If your size is not among them, we sew the pillowcase to your measurements – at no extra charge, on request by email or WhatsApp.

Zip and atelier

We sew each pillowcase after your order is placed. The zip is of German manufacture and has a metal slider. It is concealed and colour-matched to the fabric.

Care and certification

The fabric is certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. Wash Travertine Beige inside out at 40 °C.
