Winter duvets
A winter duvet carries our Warm rating — within each collection, it is the version with the highest fill weight, designed for cold nights and cool bedrooms. All six collections are also available in a winter edition, filled with TENCEL™ Lyocell, Polish or Siberian goose down, alpaca wool, merino wool, or a blend of cashmere and merino. The range extends from washable fibre and down duvets to finely crafted wool duvets. Each collection is available in 20 sizes, from 135x200 to 280x240 cm, and we also make duvets to measure. Every duvet is made to order in our own ateliers. Choose the filling first, then the size.

Which winter duvet is right for you?
All six winter editions carry our Warm rating — the choice depends on the material, cover and care. First, consider whether a winter duvet or an all-season duvet better suits your personal warmth needs. The all-season duvet has a medium fill weight and sits between the summer and winter editions, making it suitable for year-round use. Within each collection, the winter duvet has the highest fill weight and is designed for cold nights and cool bedrooms.
Our winter duvets
How warm the night feels also depends on the room temperature and bedding — the warmth rating is a guide, not a promise. For the warmer months, we offer summer duvets.

Six collections for cold nights
The filling influences drape, warmth and care. All six winter editions carry our Warm rating — they differ in material and character.
Dreamy with TENCEL™ Lyocell
Dreamy is filled with 100 % TENCEL™ Lyocell, a fibre made from wood cellulose that can absorb and release moisture. In the 135×200 cm size, the winter edition contains 1,350 g of filling — more than three times as much as the summer edition. The batiste cover is made from equal parts TENCEL™ Lyocell and cotton and can be washed at up to 60 °C.
Royal with Polish goose down
Royal combines Polish goose down with a light batiste made from Egyptian Mako cotton. The down comes from small farms in Poland and has a fill power of 850 cuin — a measure of the volume occupied by one gram of down. In the 135×200 cm size, the winter edition contains 630 g of filling — more than twice as much as the summer edition. Its high fill power allows the filling to remain comparatively light despite its warmth retention. Washable at up to 60 °C.
Alpaca with alpaca wool from Peru
The filling consists of 100 % alpaca wool from Peru, enclosed in a soft, closely woven cotton batiste. Wool naturally retains warmth well — in the winter edition, the alpaca wool provides greater warmth retention while also being able to absorb moisture. Professional cleaning is recommended instead of washing.
Cashmere with cashmere and merino wool
The Cashmere collection is filled with 70 % cashmere wool and 30 % wool from Alpine merino sheep. The cover is made from smooth cotton sateen. The wool blend is intended for cool bedrooms and a higher personal need for warmth. The care instructions provided on the relevant product page and care label apply.
Merino with wool from Alpine merino sheep
Merino is filled with 100 % wool from Alpine merino sheep. The pure wool filling is enclosed in a smooth cotton sateen cover. It can absorb moisture and is also suited to heated bedrooms. Care should follow the information provided on the relevant product page and care label.
Queen with Siberian goose down
Queen is filled with 100 % Siberian goose down. The fine batiste cover is made from 52 % LENZING™ Lyocell Micro and 48 % cotton (90 g/m², 340 TC). The winter duvet can be washed at 60 °C. It is the alternative to Royal for those who prefer a cover made from Lyocell and cotton.

20 sizes for single and shared duvets
Dimensions are stated as width × length — 200×220 and 220×200 cm are therefore two different formats. The duvet cover should match the selected duvet size exactly; both are available in the same dimensions.
1. Length: The duvet should reach from your shoulders to beyond your feet.
2. Width: Width becomes especially important in winter: if the duvet is too narrow when you turn during sleep, cold air may enter at the sides.
3. One duvet or two: If two people have different warmth preferences, two single duvets are often the more suitable choice, each with an individually selected filling. A shared duvet from 240 cm in width provides both people with sufficient room at the sides.
Winter duvet sizes
We also make winter duvets to measure, provided the requested dimensions are technically feasible. Let us know the size you require, and we will confirm the price before you place your order. Oliwia, our Atelier Concierge, will reply personally. Request a made-to-measure size.

Care: air regularly, wash only when needed
Dreamy, Royal and Queen can be washed at 60 °C. Alpaca should be professionally cleaned rather than washed. For the Cashmere and Merino collections, follow the information on the relevant product page and the sewn-in care label. These are the authoritative sources if a particular washing temperature or machine washing is important to your choice.
Regular airing is the simplest form of care, including in winter. During sleep, the body releases moisture, some of which passes into the duvet — particularly during the heating season. Airing helps maintain the loft of down and allows wool and Lyocell to release moisture. It also helps odours dissipate and may reduce the need for more intensive cleaning, helping to preserve the filling. In the morning, shake the duvet out and air it briefly by an open window or on a balcony on a dry day, avoiding damp weather.
Frequently asked questions about winter duvets
Which duvet is suitable for winter?
A duvet with our Warm rating, available with goose down, TENCEL™ Lyocell or wool. The choice depends on the material, cover and care; all six winter editions carry the same warmth rating.
How much filling does a winter duvet contain?
Within each collection, the winter edition has the highest fill weight. In the 135 × 200 cm size, Royal contains 630 g of filling, compared with 270 g in the summer edition, while Dreamy contains 1,350 g, compared with 400 g in summer. Fill weights from different materials cannot be compared directly — for down, fill power also matters, not weight alone. The fill weight for each size is listed on the relevant product page.
Winter duvet or all-season duvet?
An all-season duvet, also known as a four-season duvet, has a medium fill weight and is intended for year-round use. Within each collection, the winter edition has the highest fill weight and is designed for cold nights and cool bedrooms. Both are available in their own categories; you can find the overview under all-season duvets.
When is a winter duvet the right choice?
The beginning of the heating season can serve as an initial guide when the bedroom remains consistently cool. Your personal warmth needs are more important than the calendar, however: if you begin to feel cold under an all-season duvet, it may be time to switch to the winter edition.
Is wool warmer than down in winter?
Wool naturally retains warmth well and can help manage moisture, while down achieves warmth through its fill power at a comparatively low weight. Both winter editions carry our Warm rating — the choice depends on the character of the filling and its care, rather than on a hierarchy of warmth.
Can I wash a winter duvet?
Dreamy, Royal and Queen are machine washable at up to 60 °C. Alpaca should be professionally cleaned, while the care instructions on the relevant product page and sewn-in care label apply to the Cashmere and Merino collections. Between cleanings, regular airing helps maintain all six duvets.
What size should a winter duvet be?
The duvet should reach from your shoulders to beyond your feet and provide enough width at the sides to help prevent cold air from entering when you turn during sleep. The duvet cover should match the selected duvet size exactly.
Do you make winter duvets to measure?
Yes, provided the requested dimensions are technically feasible. Let us know the size you require, and we will confirm the price before you place your order.
