Fitted sheets
A fitted sheet must match the width, length and height of the mattress and topper. The sizes available in our shop are made for mattress depths of 18 to 30 cm, including the topper. For flatter toppers and deeper box-spring mattresses, we adjust the sheet to your measurements — simply include the height in your enquiry or in the notes to your order. The elastic is sewn around the entire edge and holds the sheet beneath the mattress. Each sheet is sewn to order in our ateliers in Germany and Poland.

How to choose the right fitted sheet
The essential measurements are the width, length and full depth of the mattress and topper. Width and length determine the stated size; for a fitted sheet, the depth must also be measured separately. We use this measurement to adjust the pocket depth, including the fabric required to reach beneath the mattress.
1. Measure the width and length of the mattress. The bed frame is usually a few centimetres larger than the mattress itself, so always measure the mattress rather than the frame. Measure across the centre and lengthwise from head to foot, rounding up to the nearest whole centimetre. An existing sheet is not a reliable basis for measurement, as its cut and use may affect its dimensions.
2. Measure the full depth, including the topper. Hold the tape measure vertically against the side, from the top of the topper to the underside of the mattress. The fitted sheet will cover both together. On many box-spring beds, only the upper mattress and topper are covered; the upholstered base remains uncovered.
3. Measure split mattresses separately. A bed measuring 180 cm in width may consist of two 90 cm mattresses. In this case, you will need two fitted sheets in 90×200 cm. A single fitted sheet in 180×200 cm is appropriate only when a continuous topper extends across both mattresses.
4. Choose the corresponding size. A mattress measuring 140×200 cm requires a fitted sheet in 140×200 cm. Choosing a larger size does not improve the fit and may result in excess fabric or creasing. If the full depth is between 18 and 30 cm, select the corresponding size from our shop. For shallower or deeper mattress arrangements, we adjust the fitted sheet to your measurements. Please provide the width, length and full depth, including the topper.
For example, if the mattress measures 160 cm in width, 200 cm in length and 24 cm in depth with the topper in place, the correct fitted-sheet size is 160×200 cm.
The elastic is sewn continuously around the entire edge, distributing the tension evenly around the sheet.
Our size guide explains which dimensions are commonly used for different types of bed.
Sizes available in our shop
We offer seventeen sizes in lengths of 190, 200, 210 and 220 cm, in four fabrics. The sizes available in each fabric are shown in the size options for the respective product.
Length 190 cm: 90×190 · 135×190 · 140×190
Length 200 cm: 80×200 · 90×200 · 100×200 · 105×200 · 120×200 · 135×200 · 140×200 · 150×200 · 160×200 · 180×200 · 200×200
Lengths 210 and 220 cm: 180×210 · 180×220 · 200×220
All dimensions are given in centimetres as width x length and correspond to the dimensions of the mattress. A length of 200 cm is common in Germany and many other European countries; lengths of 190, 210 and 220 cm are also used in a number of markets.
We also make fitted sheets in non-standard sizes, provided the dimensions are technically feasible.
For mattresses beyond standard sizes
Non-standard requirements generally relate to width and length, depth or shape.
Width and length. We can assess sizes between those available in our shop, older mattress formats and dimensions such as 170×200 or 90×210 cm.
Depth. A box-spring mattress with a topper may be more than 30 cm high, while a slim topper or mattress may measure less than 18 cm. In either case, the standard pocket depth will not correspond to the full height: it may either fail to reach beneath the mattress or leave excess fabric. We adjust the pocket depth to the height you provide, at the price of the shop size selected for the width and length. Simply include the full height in your enquiry or in the notes to your order; no photograph is required.
Shape. Not every mattress is rectangular. We also make fitted sheets for trapezoidal, tapered or divided mattresses, including boat berths and fitted sleeping areas, provided the design is technically feasible.
For an adjusted pocket depth, provide the full height of the mattress and topper together with the selected shop size. We assess non-standard dimensions and special shapes individually and may require a photograph or template, depending on the design.
An adjusted pocket depth does not alter the price of the selected shop size, provided the sheet can be cut from the fabric width without an additional seam. Non-standard dimensions and special shapes are priced according to the chosen fabric, the amount required and the construction. We confirm the price before you place your order. Fitted sheets in four fabrics
Percale is woven in a plain weave, with the warp and weft crossing evenly to create a matte, dry surface. At 120 g/m² and 230 TC, the fabric is smooth and closely woven.
Cotton sateen is woven from cotton using a sateen weave. The threads pass over several interlacing points, creating a smooth surface with a subtle lustre. Sateen refers to the weave, not the fibre. At 320 TC and 120 g/m², the fabric has a smooth, refined appearance.
MicroModal is an especially fine quality of modal, a regenerated cellulose fibre derived from wood. Also woven in a sateen weave, it has a lighter, more fluid drape than our cotton sateen and weighs 125 g/m². You can learn more about the modal fibre we use on our Tencel bedding page.
Linen made from Western European flax has a matte appearance and a texture that can be both seen and felt. Our linen, currently available in white, weighs 170 g/m², making it the heaviest of the four fabrics.
Percale and linen can be washed at up to 60 °C; cotton sateen and MicroModal at up to 40 °C. Always follow the sewn-in care label for the individual product.
A fabric’s appearance in the light and its feel are easier to assess from a sample than on a screen. Request fabric samples.
The colours
Our percale fitted sheets are available in thirteen colours: Pure White, Cream Light Beige, Pearl Light Grey, Azure Light Blue, Aloe Mint Green, Sage Green, Malva Dusty Rose, Cherry Blossom Pink, Ochre Yellow, Denim Grey Blue, Forest Dark Green, Graphite Dark Grey and Night Dark Blue. Cotton sateen is available in Marble White, Taupe Greige and Black; MicroModal and linen are currently available in White.
As long as a colour and fabric remain part of our collection, the fitted sheet can be reordered as an additional sheet or as a replacement. Slight variations in shade may occur between dye batches.
Flat sheets without elastic
For a flat sheet without elastic — to place over the mattress or tuck beneath it — see our dedicated category: flat sheets. An overview of all sheet types is available under bed sheets.
Prices by fabric
Percale from €55, cotton sateen from €69, MicroModal from €99 and linen from €105. The price depends on the chosen fabric and size.
We do not keep finished bed linen in stock. Each fitted sheet is made to order.
Frequently asked questions about fitted sheets
What size should my fitted sheet be?
It should match the width and length of your mattress. Measure both directly on the mattress, rather than the bed frame, and select the corresponding size. The fabric required for the pocket and to secure the sheet beneath the mattress is already included.
What mattress depth are the fitted sheets made for?
The sizes available in our shop are made for mattress depths of 18 to 30 cm, including the topper. If your mattress and topper are deeper or shallower, we adjust the pocket depth to your measurements — simply provide the full height.
Does the topper count towards the mattress height?
Yes. The fitted sheet covers the mattress and topper together, so the topper must be included when measuring the full height. Measure from the top of the topper to the underside of the mattress.
Do you make fitted sheets for deep box-spring mattresses?
Yes, provided the design is technically feasible. Choose the corresponding shop size in width and length, then add the full height of the mattress and topper to the notes for your order. For a prior enquiry, please provide the width, length and full height. A photograph is not required when adjusting the pocket depth. The price of the corresponding shop size applies, provided the sheet can be cut from the fabric width without an additional seam.
Will a fitted sheet fit a slim topper?
Yes, provided the pocket depth matches the topper’s height. A fitted sheet made for mattress depths of 18 to 30 cm may leave excess fabric on a topper only a few centimetres high. For a slim topper, we adjust the pocket depth accordingly — simply include its full height with your order.
Do your fitted sheets have elastic all around?
Yes. The elastic is sewn continuously around the entire edge, distributing the tension evenly around the sheet.
Do you make fitted sheets in custom sizes?
Yes. If the size you require is not available in our shop, we can make the fitted sheet to your measurements, provided the design is technically feasible. We do not apply a surcharge for a non-standard rectangular size; as with our standard sizes, the price is based on the chosen fabric and the amount required.
What is the difference between a fitted sheet and a flat sheet?
A fitted sheet has elastic around the entire edge and fits securely over the mattress. A flat sheet has no elastic and is laid over the mattress before being tucked underneath. We offer both; our flat sheets are available under flat sheets.
