Pillowcases

Our pillowcases in percale, cotton sateen, MicroModal and linen are available individually and without a pillow. Choose the fabric and colour together with the dimensions stated on your pillow. If the required size is not available, we will assess your preferred dimensions for technical feasibility. Each pillowcase is sewn to order in our ateliers in Germany and Poland.

Which pillowcase size do you need?

The size stated on your pillow — shown on the sewn-in label — is what matters, not the width of your bed or your height. Your pillowcase should have the same dimensions as the pillow: a 40×80 cm pillow requires a 40×80 cm pillowcase.

If no dimensions are shown on the label, lay a well-fitting pillowcase flat and measure its width and length from seam to seam.

With large square pillows, part of the shoulders may rest on the pillow alongside the head. Narrower formats leave more space between the pillow and the shoulders. Our Pillows section explains which pillow height and filling may suit your sleeping position.

Common national formats include 80×80 cm in Germany, 65×65 cm in France and Switzerland, 50×75 cm in Italy and the United Kingdom, and 50×70 cm in Scandinavia. Two 80×80 cm pillows placed side by side require a bed width of 160 cm.

For further guidance on choosing the right bedding dimensions, see our size guide.

All measurements are given in centimetres as width × length. If your size is not listed, we will make the pillowcase to your measurements, provided it is technically feasible.

Pillowcase, pillow or cushion pad?

This page offers the pillowcase on its own, without filling — for a pillow you already own.

The filled pillow itself is available under pillows. For a decorative cushion, you can choose a suitable cushion pad. The matching pillow or cushion pad can be ordered together with the pillowcase.

Why choose a single pillowcase?

Sometimes only one pillowcase is needed: as a replacement for one you already have or as a second to alternate with. Every pillowcase can be ordered on its own. You are not tied to a fixed set and can choose the fabric and colour to complement your existing bed linen. A duvet cover can likewise be reordered individually.

Pillowcases in four fabrics

Percale is woven in a plain weave: the warp and weft threads cross evenly, creating a matte, dry surface. At 120 g/m² and 230 TC, the fabric is smooth and closely woven.

Cotton sateen is woven from cotton in a sateen weave. The threads pass over several interlacing points, creating a smooth surface with a subtle lustre. Sateen refers to the weave, not the fibre. At 320 TC and 120 g/m², the fabric has a smooth, composed appearance.

MicroModal is an especially fine quality of modal, a regenerated cellulose fibre made from wood. Also woven in a sateen weave, the fabric has a lighter, more fluid drape than our cotton sateen at 125 g/m². Learn more about the modal fibre we use on our Tencel bedding page.

Linen made from Western European flax has a matte appearance and a texture that can be both seen and felt. At 150 g/m², it is the heaviest of the four fabrics.

Rectangular linen pillowcases have a hotel closure — a folded opening without any visible fastening. Rectangular pillowcases in percale, cotton sateen and MicroModal are finished with a concealed zip.

A fabric’s appearance in the light and its feel are easier to judge from a sample than on a screen. Request fabric samples.

The colours

Our percale pillowcases are available in thirteen colours: Pure White, Cream Light Beige, Pearl Light Grey, Azure Light Blue, Aloe Mint Green, Sage Green, Malva Dusty Rose, Cherry Blossom Pink, Ochre Yellow, Denim Grey Blue, Forest Dark Green, Graphite Dark Grey and Night Dark Blue. Cotton sateen is available in Marble White, Taupe Greige and Black; MicroModal and linen are currently available in white.

As long as a colour and fabric remain part of our collection, the pillowcase can be reordered as a second piece or as a replacement.

Layering different pillow sizes

Different pillow formats bring structure to the head of the bed. Large 80×80 cm pillows sit at the back, with narrower formats — often used for sleeping — arranged in front. A small square cushion or bolster can complete the composition.

Using a single colour creates a calmer arrangement; combining two fabrics introduces variation through their response to light rather than through colour.

Covers for special pillow shapes

Not every pillow is rectangular. Our bolster measures 15 cm in diameter and 40 cm in length; the matching cover is currently available in cotton sateen and can be ordered like any other size.

We assess other shapes on request, including contoured neck-support pillows, positioning pillows and sports pillows. Send us a photograph, the width and length of the pillow, and your preferred fabric. For contoured shapes, please also include the height, curves and cut-outs; an existing cover is often the best template. We will assess the shape for technical feasibility and confirm the construction and price before you place your order.

We do not charge a surcharge for custom sizing — the price is calculated in the same way as for the sizes available in our shop. For a special shape, we will confirm the price individually. Oliwia, our Atelier Concierge, will reply personally by email or WhatsApp. Enquire about a special shape.

Prices by fabric

The price depends on the fabric and size: a single pillowcase starts at €20 in percale, €22 in cotton sateen and €25 in either MicroModal or linen.

We do not keep finished bed linen in stock. Every pillowcase is made to order.
